What Approach handles
Approach uses a random installation identifier and an authentication token to protect your alert settings. If you enable notifications, the server stores your Apple Push Notification token, app and operating-system versions, subscribed train services, alert preferences, quiet hours, timezone, and Live Activity push tokens.
Your location is used on your device for nearby stations and map features. Approach does not send your precise location to its server.
Storage and services
Journeys may be stored in your private iCloud/CloudKit database when available. Purchases are processed by Apple and RevenueCat. Sentry receives crash and performance diagnostics with default personal-information collection disabled. PostHog receives product-usage events so Approach can identify broken flows and improve the app. Feedback includes the message and diagnostic context you choose to send; an email address is optional.
Retention and deletion
Inactive or revoked server installations are removed after 90 days. In Profile, Delete All Data removes server alert data, local journeys, Live Activities, travel documents, profile settings, and the installation credential. Apple may retain transaction records required for purchases, refunds, tax, or legal compliance.
